All animal chiropractors must work under the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 and the Exemptions Order 2015. To abide by this, the owner must consult their veterinary surgeon and gain consent before your animal can receive chiropractic care. If your animal is receiving chiropractic care as a general 'MOT'/ maintenance then veterinary consent is not needed. It is illegal to treat an animal without veterinary consent and would void any insurance policies in place. Once consent has been given, your animal can begin their chiropractic treatment and would only need veterinary consent again if a new issue arises that the vet is not aware of.
